We've just opened the floodgates on beta signups to the MediaCore Cloud. Anyone who wants to get a MediaCore site in seconds can now do so by heading over to http://mediacore.com/signup

Great news. Already registered but I have two questions.
1. How much will it cost for me to run the service in your cloud?
1a. How much space you provide? Are there some plans?
1b. Will there be possibility to move/export data from the cloud version and import it to self hosted one?
2. Will there be a possibility to choose different language in cloud version? Io saw that there is Polish available to download but it would be great to be able to use it in the cloud version.

To answer your questions:
1. We're working on the pricing, with no final numbers yet. We'll share our plans once they are solidified a little more. For now - just sit back and enjoy the beta :)
1b. There will be plans with storage space.
2. Yes, you'll be able to switch languages. We just need some help in getting all the translations together.

I have asked because at the moment I'm looking for some service like that for one of projects at work and at the moment MC seems to be best. Tried Kaltura some time ago but back then their prices for such a small project were much too big.
Since you are still considering this matter, maybe it would be good idea to apart from the support to just paste the link to the video file while adding it in the acp, add there a module which would be communicating with external FTP and enable uploading files there. I'm just not sure how then encoding part would look like but I'm sure MC team would manage.
As for pricing of the cloud, I think that it could be divided into three parts:
- disk space (on your servers) - some people like me could host files on their own, so they could save a buck here
- encoding time (since encoding is taking place on your servers you might charge for the time the encoding taken and so smaller clients could manage with 1-2h per month while others could buy more)
- the base cloud (last but not least - obligatory payment for the possibility to use the script on your cloud without the hustle of installing it on own server - some symbolic monthly or anually fee I think would do here ;] )
Taking into consideration mentioned above, you could create affordable for simply everyone platform where the prices would depend on the real usage and load generated by the website.
Another question..
Will there be possibility to connect custom domain to the cloud? I'm pretty sure it will but it not hurt to make sure.
As for languages, I know you must be pretty busy at the moment after deploying cloud but maybe in some free time, you could implement there languages which are at the moment 100% ready? Like I said earlier, I need Polish language and it's 100% so it could be safely put as an option ;]

Well, that's actually planned for the next weeks: "Custom Domains: Add your own URL (ex. yoursite.com)"
Will it be possible to add plugins etc.?
Great, started testing today,
Under Appearance > Options, I can't check off all the options, it gives error: "Missing value" when I try to save.
Where should we report further errors?
Also, can we have old theme as an option? new theme is ugly
A few more questions:
1. Will external storage be available through the storage API? We have a great CDN deal and are only looking for the platform side of things.
2. Like @johs I'm also keen to know if we'll be able to write and install our own plugins.
3. Are all of the API calls that are available on the self hosted version also fucntional on the cloud version?
4. Do you have ANY plans to support IE for the backend? No probs for me but I work in an organisation with workstations that only have IE8+ where most users don't have admin rights to install their own browsers.
5. Would it be possible to disable the front end (or place the front end behind a log in)? We're looking to use the backend and the APIs to build our own front end that we host ourselves.
Cool! Testing the site now. One thing that's not working for me is uploading thumbs for videos/podcasts, is this disabled for now?

@livepoint: Thanks for your suggestions, we always love feedback. Also yes, you will be able to add your own domain.
@johs: We are thinking through the plugin thing. I think what will probably end up happening is if there are plugins that are submitted via the open source community, "approved" plugins may appear in the cloud. We're also contemplating allowing developers to submit plugins that they charge for to the cloud platform as "add-ons" that users would pay to enable.
@simon:
1. You will be able to link to files stored on external CDN's. At the moment we don't allow you to plugin your own CDN as adding that functionality is quite complex.
2. At the moment you can write plugins for the open source version: http://mediacore.com/plugins/
3. Yes, all API's that are in the self-hosted version are in the cloud. We will also be introducing new API's into the cloud that are not currently in the open source version. Notably these will include a theming API and an ingestion API.
4. Yes, we will IE fix the whole back-end up down to IE7 (I don't think we'll ever do IE6). This is something that will happen once we start receiving more requests to fix these issues.
5. Yes, this is something we're thinking about

As a previous poster mentioned, the ability to add custom domain to this will be the tipping point for us. LOVE this platform. Keep us up to date about the custom domain.

I have a beta cloud installed copii.mediacore.com and this is my question.
Why can`t upload files ...not embed files. avi, flv..etc.
When I go to admin page on Add & manage is only embed Url`.s.
And second:
When I try to put embed from dotsub.com tells me Unencoded.

4romeo: Uploading is not enabled yet in the cloud (high on the priority list but not quite done).
Also currently dotsub is not a supported service at this moment. If we get lots of users requesting dotsub integration we may at some point do integration.
Can I join Turkish translation team?
