how do I enable the SWF uploader? I have Firefox with Flash installed but I never see a progress bar in the upload page. Do I have to configure something?

As I found out, there's a special case in the code which skips the flash upload if you're using Linux. This because of a bug in Adobe's flash player - Firefox will just freeze until the upload is completed.
If I have too much time, I'll have to rewrite a pure JS implementation - with the DOM progress monitoring support in Firefox and Chrome (and possibly Safari) that could actually replace the whole flash crap.
