# Create a new virtual environment:
virtualenv-2.5 --no-site-packages mediacore_env
giving an error like below any sugesstions?
[ps25498]$ virtualenv-2.5 --no-site-packages mediacore_env
-bash: virtualenv-2.5: command not found
I even tried with putting sudo
and also for 500 internal server error I looked into the log file and it is giving me this
-su: ./mediacore.fcgi: /home/umut11/mediacore_env/bin/python: bad interpreter: Permission denied
try using the command virtualenv instead of virtualenv-2.5

I too have encountered the same problem. I use os x. replacing with virtualenv rather than virtualenv-2.5 still produces - -bash: virtualenv: command not found

If you didn't already have virtualenv installed on your system, with python2.5, it should have been installed at this step:

That step had been successfully completed in OS 10.6, and encounter the error still, even though it reports that virtualenv is installed.

What's the output when you run each of these commands?
ls -la /opt/local/bin | grep -i "virtualenv\|python\|easy\|2\.5"
echo $PATH
which python2.5

That looks great, except for the missing virtualenv-2.5 script.
You're sure you've run sudo port -v install py25-virtualenv?
What's the output of python2.5 -c 'import virtualenv; print virtualenv.__file__'
Hey good news. It's all working now. I ran the sudo port -v install py25-virtualenv and it worked. Strange as I had religiously followed the setup instructions. Thanks for you help
