Mediacore is SEXY ! However i ned decisive answers for Hosting and Pricing !

Hello mediacore, first of all i would like to congratulate u guys on doing such a fantastic job of developing this masterpiece, seriously i have never come across such a sophisticated platform with such a simple workflow and SEXY interface. I am sure, this thing will will make all the other Giants like a joke.

However ( i know its still in the beta stage so no fuss) , after going through a lot of threads in this forum i have to say that there is not a single concrete information about HOSTING media-core cause the guys who have done it seem to have run into ten different kind of problems.

Since, I am about to make a site built on mediacore I am looking for some decisive instructions.

So my three simple questions are :
1. Do you guys provide the Mediacore Hosting (As i will prefer it more), If not what hostings do you recommend.?

2. When do you plan to release the stable version of cloud platform? It certainly is gonna be chargeable so please give us an idea or approximation so we could decide on things on our end.

3. If i choose to go with the open platform will there be any difference.. in the features between the cloud platform and the open platform. And If i am running the open platform, will i still have the access to the regular updates from mediacore?

I know people have asked similar questions earlier but i ask it anyways coz none of the answers help make a decision. And I am sure answers to these question will be very helpful for others too.

Hi Gurung,

Thanks for all the nice compliments! We love hearing how much people enjoy the product.

Here are the answers to your questions:

1. Within the week we will be announcing a fully hosted version of MediaCore (currently the MediaCore Cloud product) which will be prominently featured on MediaCore.com - the service will provide full video hosting, encoding and delivery.

2. The stable version (non-beta) is scheduled for release next week if all goes according to plan. It will be chargeable, and will start serving businesses, enterprises, universities and organizations worldwide. Pricing will start between $99 and $499 a month and will include storage, bandwidth, encoding and global delivery (via a CDN).

3. The main difference between the Cloud platform and the Open Platform is that updates will come much sooner to the Cloud platform than to the Open Platform. This is mostly as a result of the fact that it's easier to launch updates to the Cloud than it is to package everything, do documentation, and push multiple beta's for the Open version. It will be some time until we will have time to make the next open source release.

Hello, sorry to be piggy-backing this thread but I think my question relates: will you be able to fix the voting system (so robots can't get to it) for the open source around the same time you release the cloud service?

For everyone who needs more control than the cloud offering allows (e.g. custom plugins, ad network integration, ...) I can arrange some feature development as well as managed hosting even for high-performance installations serving many hundred-thousand visitors per minute.

Aicm - we will be addressing the voting system within the next couple months, it will be tied to a larger update that will require users to login in order to like or comment.
