MediaCore Installation in CentOS CPanel server

Hi,

I've tried to install MediaCore in a Cpanel server, but i can't do it... I've followed the guide steps, but i don't understand the latest ones. (where is going to get installed the MediaCore if i don't select previously the domain where i need to install it?)

How you can see, i don't have enought experience with the server configuration for do it. I need to do that in this server, because i 've others domains and actually i can't uninstall the cpanel/whm CMS.

I'm willing to pay 100$ if you help me with the installation.

Hi Victor, first of all, let me apologize for my poor English.

I don´t have Cpanel but I install Mediacore 0.8.2 in CentOS 5.5 and centos 4.2 the last week.

I think that you need access to security->ssh access in control panel and when you see the console, download and install python 2.5.
With Centos you have to install Python 2.5, because Centos have Python 2.4 and this is a problem and Mediacore 0.8.2 don´t work on it.

Be careful because if you update Python 2.4 to Python2.5 in Centos the server crash forever because Centos need python 2.4 to work.

Good luck, I am trying to install "Mediacore 0.9 alpha" but it is imposible :-(

Thanks for your answer. How i say, i've tried to do all the steps exposed at the guide (including the installation of Python 2.5) but that's not the problem. The problem is the compatibility with Cpanel, that's what i don't know how to do...

But I dont know something about CPanel, in the work I work with a lot of CMS instalation administration, but CPanel never.

For CentOS I'd recommend strongly against building Python 2.5 manually. Instead use Fedora EPEL and install python26 from there. This will get you a Python-stack supported by Red Hat engineers instead of a custom-built one. Module support for Python 2.6 in EPEL is pretty slim currently but that will improve over time.
