Hello,
I'm trying to add thumbnail to a media, but when i try i got this message :

"Unsupported image type". I don't really know what is wrong, apache can read/write on the data folder to put the image, my mediacore seems works fine except this point.
If someone can help me :).
PS : Its with Python2.5 on Ubuntu 10.04 desktop.
I think MediaCore 0.8 was released with support only for JPEG images. Try saving your image as a JPEG before uploading it.
0.8.1 will allow PNGs, GIFs, and maybe some others.

I have try with an jpeg file and i have the same issue. :-(
The demo on the mediacore website its based on the 0.8 release?
The demo is running a slightly newer (development) version. Is it working for you if you try on the demo?
Yes on the demo i can upload thumbnail without any problem.
This could be a problem related to the installation of PIL (the Python Imaging Library). It's installed automatically, as a dependency of MediaCore.
However, if the PIL installer can't find the right libraries (libjpeg for JPEG files, libpng for PNG files) it won't be able to work with certain files.
On ubuntu, I think you can "sudo apt-get install libjpeg62" then try re-installing MediaCore (don't have to set up the database again, just have to delete/recreate your virtual-env and run "python setup.py install" again).
That should allow the Python Imaging Library to handle JPEG files properly on your system.
