   hi! I get this error message too.
   when I run
   paster serve --reload development.ini

   WebError Traceback:
   "⇝ GenerationException: url_for could not generate URL. Called with args: () {'controller': '/admin'} "
   in localhost:8080
   How can i solve this problem?

   my environment is
   local server
   OS:SUSE enterprise linux server10 SP1
   MySQL5.0.26
   PHP5.1.2
   gcc-4.1.2
   Python2.5.2

   Hi there Kej,

   This is indeed the same problem that overflow had in this thread.

   The reason this happens is that after MediaCore 0.7.2 was released, a new version of Pylons was released (as part of the installation process, MediaCore installs the newest version of Pylons). MediaCore needs Pylons 0.9.7 and Routes 1.11, and MediaCore 0.8 will install those versions specifically. In the mean time, your problem is that Pylons 0.10rc1 is installed, which caused Routes 1.12 to be installed, which is breaking your routing.

   You can solve this as follows:

   Delete your virtual environment, create a new one, then install Pylons0.9.7, then install mediacore, like so:
   

   rm -rf mediacore_env
   virtualenv --no-site-packages mediacore_env
   source mediacore_env/bin/activate
   easy_install "Pylons == 0.9.7"
   cd MediaCore-0.7.2
   python setup.py develop
