   I am deploying mediacore 0.8.2. I have been developing / testing under paster with no issues. When I go to to a deployment using Apache 2.2, the administration pages at /admin do not work. I've tried both mod_fcgi and mod_wsgi (not at the same time obviously) by following the documentation. I can view all the normal media pages, categories, etc. But when I tack /admin on to my URL, I get the "this page has gone missing!" mediacore page. My questions are:

   1) Has anyone ever experience this? If so, what's the fix?
   2) How do I diagnose this further?

   First, I'd enable debug logging and set debug=True. Also there should be an error in your apache log.

   If you look at the page title it will say whether it's a 401, 403, 404, or 500 error. I suspect it'll be a 401 or a 403.

   Are you running mod_auth or any kind of basic authentication outside of MediaCore? This can sometimes conflict with our authentication framework but there are workarounds if this is the case.

   Nathan,

   It was a 401. I was able to get it working under mod_wsgi by adding <Location> for /admin, /login, and /logout per a post in this thread: http://mediacore.com/community/topic/private-mediacore-behind-a-password. I was still not able to get it work with mod_fcgi.

   Is adding these location directives standard operating procedure? Are the admin pages supposed to work out of the box if you follow the production deployments documentation? Yes, there is some authentication running outside of mediacore. I wasn't getting raw apache 401 pages though, but mediacore's "can't find this page".
