With our podcast we often add supporting documents for download for visitors to the site. I only see a way to add audio or video. Would be be possible to upload a pdf or word doc?

Best thing I'd suggest is adding a link to the documents in the description of the video, thats about all I can think about using the out of the box functionality... you could modify the accepted file extensions in the python code, but then you'd have to also modify the relationships between what a video is and what support docs are, etc etc.
